Abstract
Peacebuilding is the process through which peace practitioners would deescalate conflict among people. Needing necessary facilities, an expert peacebuilder and strong determination for fulfilling peace, peacebuilding acquires a proper structure to facilitate peace and tranquility as well.
Building mosque as an Islamic social institution embraces Muslim community five times a day for congregational rituals, can institutionalize peacebuilding with its different functions in Muslim lands. Special architecture of mosques such as minarets, domes, Mihrab and their symbolic and transcendent art helps Muslims to build inner peace by praying and connecting to God, and finally peacebuilding inside community by practicing religious ceremonies in congregation.
